Bishop Fairley Visits with Boy Scouts at Heartland District Scout Camp

posted on June 22

Steve Bays, Conference Scouting Coordinator, took resident bishop, Bishop Leonard Fairley on a tour of one of the Lincoln Heritage Council Campsites, Camp Crooked Creek, that is in the Heartland District. He was able to tour the camp and meet scouts and leaders from all over the state and surrounding area.

Joining us on the tour was Pastor Paul Frederick from the district who is also a scout leader and the council's Religious Emblems Coordinator. Pictured above is Steve Bays, Bishop Fairley and Paul Frederick. The Bishop was also able to meet leaders from the following district churches, Mosaic, St Matthews UMC and the leaders of the troop sponsored by the Kavanaugh Enrichment Center at the Conference office.

The United Methodist Church is the largest supporter and sponsor of scouting in America.
