You are invited to the Amazing GRACE Community of Faith Good Friday Program – “The 7 Last Words of Christ” – Friday, April 7, 2023, at 7:00pm.
The Seven Last Words of Christ are gathered from the accounts of Good Friday in all four Gospels. They provide us an opportunity to focus on the cross and how Jesus understood and expressed His sacrifice of dying for our sins.
We are going to have a spirit-filled time lifting up the seven last sayings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ from the cross. Each speaker is asked to bring a message on the assigned scripture and to lift it up in 5-7 minutes:
FIRST WORD: Luke 23:34 Rev. John Jones – Breath of Life UMC Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.
SECOND WORD: Luke 23:43 Rev. John Hatton – Heartland District Superintendent Today thou shalt be with me in paradise.
THIRD WORD: John 19:26 Rev. Steven Traynham – Coke Memorial UMC Woman, behold thy son!
FOURTH WORD: Matt. 27:46 Rev. Dr. Eugene Giles – West Chestnut St Baptist Church My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?
FIFTH WORD: John 19:28 Rev. Larry Cooley – Garrs Lane UMC I Thirst.
SIXTH WORD: John 19:30 Rev. Barbara Bennett-House of God’s Blessing It is finished.
SEVENTH WORD: Luke 23:46 Rev William Hodge – Meadowlawn Baptist Church Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit.
In addition, we will be having a Fish Fry from 12:00pm to 7:00pm, come early and invite your church family to come fellowship one with another.
